About Us
South Side Cycles began to fill a need in the Lancaster, Ohio area for a reasonably priced shop that can provide basic motorcycle repair and maintenance. Owners Jack and Wayne have years of experience with motorcycle repair and maintenance, but also enjoy riding
motorcycles and spend most of our free time doing various cycling events. Jack has 20 years experience in a Honda and Harley dealership with factory training and certification from both companies in all aspects of motorcycles repair. The fact is if you took your Honda or Harley to the dealer in Lancaster anytime in the 80’s or 90’s, Jack most likely did the work on it. Wayne has years of experience in different kinds of vehicle repair and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Our business philosophy is simple, “Just Ride It.” We will do all we can to help our customers go riding, and we hope they will invite us to go along. The limitations of our shop are many and we would like to be honest about what they are. This is just our hobby so our hours are different every week, customers can email or call for this week’s hours. We are usually open 4 to 5 days a week.
Because both owners work full time jobs, we offer very competitive pricing on service and parts. Currently our labor rate is $60/hr - at least $20/hr less than the dealerships. We offer Harley, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki OEM parts as well as
aftermarket parts and accessories. Our biggest business is tires, we sell Name brand tires over the counter for internet prices and install at very reasonable rates. We have Dunlop, Metzler, and Continental tires in stock in the most popular sizes.
We choose to limit the amount and type of work we do. We feel that one of the special things about us is that the owner is doing your work and is test riding your bike - we have not found any suitable employees that we are comfortable with giving this type of responsibility to. For this reason, we Do NOT work on Dirt bikes, ATVs, modern European bikes, or swap meet junk. We also do not do engine rebuilds, restorations, or custom fabrication. The biggest thing we don’t
do is pretty, we will make it run better than it ever has and we will make sure that all the maintenance is done properly but we don’t paint, shine, chrome ,or customize this would go against the philosophy, “Just Ride it”
Because of the over whelming customer response to our shop we find ourselves constantly buried in work and find very little time to ride our bikes, so if you need repair or maintenance please be patient. We will get to your work as soon as we can.
